Deep cobalt blue and golden sand; the colors of nature, and the hues found in our authentic Talavera pottery collection from Santa Rosa Majolica. Colors as bold and vivid as the tints found in this collection bringth warmth and focus to cool, contemporary homes, and rustic charm to the most vibrant design theme.
Gorgeous gold and deep, deep, cobalt blue, the intensity of color and vibrancy of design in the Azul collection of Mayolica (or Majolica, as it is often known as) is spell-binding. Hand-painted and fired with a lustrous glaze, this collection is durable, practical, and stunningly gorgeous.
What we've found as we've searched for amazing tableware and pottery, is that color is the key to understanding craftsmanship. Our artisan studios have multiple generations of experience in hand-mixing the glazes and paints which produce this lustrous, intensely-colored finish. Not only that, our artisans hand-source the minerals for these paints, and painstakingly grind and blend the raw materials to make their own, custom paint.
While the colors of classic Talavera may be universal, each studio has their own, closely-held recipes for their special paints and glazes. Like a person or grain of sand on the beach, no two are alike.
We hope you join us in appreciating the deep artistry and commitment these artisans exhibit in their work.
