What a vivid, delicious and extraordinarily hospital introduction to the sustainable viniculture, food and history. While we were on the artisan pottery and handcraft hunt among Corfu, Greece's richly talented artistic community, we couldn't resist a visit to this beautiful and historic winery. Although the tradition of Mexico's Talavera pottery is much beloved by us, we know there is a world of history and tradition to be explored, and we can't wait to share!
Although it was off season, the owners graciously allowed us to visit, so we had the privilege of visiting Corfu's oldest winery, founded in the 16th century by the Venetian descendants of today's owners.
Vasiliki Karounou and her husband now run Ambelonas Winery. Please read their amazing history and commitment to sustainable, green wine and olive oil production, and slow food:
The stunning winery and olive oil making site isn't just beautiful - every square inch is devoted to sustainable food production and viticulture.
It was an extraordinary visit, and the hospitality, wine and food was as stunning as the view as Corfu, Greece's iconic Ambelonas Vineyard and Winery.

While there is no end to the personality of a well-heeled table, there is something to be said for the elegant simplicity of the under-stated table.
New Year Reflections: Loved Ones Around the Table
Take this day, this month and the new year to reflect with gratitude on the blessings small and large which have come your way. For so many that are in loss, may peace be upon you as you move forward with memories and love. Some of our loved ones get to be around our table this year, and some reside in our hearts.
Fall is approaching. There's a tinge in the morning air and the leaves will be arrayed in vibrant color soon. All of this seasonal change calls for delicious comfort food and equally delectable artisan handcrafted dinnerware.
